Rabbi Chanan and Meira Spivak - Chapter Directors

Rabbi Chanan and Meira Spivak

Rabbi Chanan and Meira Spivak became Portland NCSY chapter directors in the summer of 2006 and since then have brought unprecidented growth to the Portland chapter. They bring with them a wealth of experience working with NCSY and Jewish teens.

Both Meira and Rabbi Spivak both grew up in New York.  They’ve lived in Israel for the last 5 and a half years and have recently moved to Portland. Meira has a graduate degree in Judaic Studies from Touro College in New York and has formerly been a caterer, aerobics instructor and owner of Something Special, an international gift basket company. Rabbi Spivak received his rabbinical degree from the Jerusalem Kollel and is currently the Director of Outreach at the Portland Kollel. Meira also runs JSU Jewish Culture Clubs in Portland public schools.
